BRYANTON
Mrs. Doreen Iona Bryanton of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Doreen was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on May 14, 1922, and travelled with her family by caravan to Rimbey at the age of 12 years. She was united in marriage to Fred Bryanton in 1943, and together they farmed and raised eight children.
Doreen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her five daughters, Faye (Arnold) Guthrie of Sylvan Lake; Evie (Mel) Tugman of Wetaskiwin; Marlene (Dale) Jordan of Calgary; Nora (Haden) Shultz of Red Deer; and Cheryl (Allan) Duckett of Rimbey; and two sons, Dennis (Karen) Bryanton of Rimbey; and Gordon (Yuli) Bryanton of Fort Macleod; her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Bryanton of Fort McMurray; as well as seventeen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister, Donna Gunderson of Edmonton; several sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Doreen was predeceased by her husband, Fred in 1987; her son, Les Bryanton in 2008; a granddaughter, Leane Guthrie in 2010; one brother, Harvey; and one sister, Shirley. A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Doreen's Life was held at the Rimbey Community Centre, Rimbey on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain David Holmes officiating. Interment followed in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey.
