Mrs. Doreen (Coughlin) Schmalz 1961 - 2018,
It is with heavy hearts that the Schmalz & Coughlin families announce the sudden passing of the beautiful, Doreen Laura Katherine (Coughlin) Schmalz of Shellbrook, SK., on June 11, 2018 at the young age of 56 years. Doreen was born in Red Deer, Alberta on July 11, 1961. She was the 7th child out of 12 to Bob & Alice Coughlin of Bluffton, AB.On August 29, 1980, at the age of 19, Doreen married her love, Myles Schmalz and started their beautiful family. Doreen was passionate about family, gardening, horses and was known for her great taste in fashion. Doreen will be lovingly and forever remembered by her husband Myles Schmalz of 37 years; her daughters, Dorianne Schmalz, Darryllyne Schmalz, Desirae (Dilan) Kardash; her five grandchildren, Maddy Younger, Payton Younger, Ashtin Knaus, Darcy Hunt-Schmalz, and Jonas Kardash; her mother Alice Coughlin; brothers Dwight (Roxanne) Coughlin, Doug Coughlin, Darrell (Kathi) Coughlin, Dean (Deb) Coughlin; her sisters, Dalice (Johnny) Auger, Delores (Rosaire) Simoneau, Debbie-Lou (Sven) Sorensen, Dawn (Sherry) Coughlin, Dolly (Jeff) Deringer, and Dodi (Quentin) Farnham. Doreen's memory will also live on through numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many friends. Doreen was predeceased by her brother Darwin (Kenny) Coughlin, her father Bob Coughlin; her niece Candace Laing and her son Ashley Schmalz; son in law Kevin Hunt; her mother-in-law Wanda Schmalz; her father-in-law Louis Schmalz; her brother-in-law's Wilfred Schmalz, Charlie Kilmer, and Dan Thompson; and her sister-in-law Helen Thompson.There will be a memorial for the celebration of Doreen's life that will take place at the Bluffton Hall on July 11th from 1:30 to 4:30 PM.
