It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Doreen Glanfield on Sunday September 25, 2022 in the Red Deer Regional Hospital ICU at the age of 88 years.
Born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta the eldest of five children born to Edward and Marjory Schmidt.
Doreen is survived by her son; Garry (Joanne) Marek, daughters; Sharon (Ken) LeLacheur and Melanie Quaife, son-in-law; Garry Chubey, brother; Greg Schmidt eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Doreen also leaves to mourn step children; Rick (Diane) Glanfield, Susan (Fred) Fawcett, Louise (Stan) Lawson, Debbie (Murray) Kreiser and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband Fred Glanfield, daughter; Robin, son-in-law; Terry, brothers; Jim and Robert and sister; Doris.
Doreen was always so active in her community and enjoyed volunteering for many organizations over the years particularly The Rimbey Seniors Drop-In Centre. Doreen was also passionate about gardening.
A Celebration of Doreen's life was held from the Seniors Drop - In Centre on Saturday October 1, 2022. Interment of Doreen's cremated remains followed in the Hoadley Cemetery.
