LINDSEY
Mrs. Doris E. Lindsey of Rimbey, Alberta, formerly of Ponoka, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the age of 94 years. Doris was born in Chesterwold, Alberta in 1916, and was united in marriage to Rex Lindsey in 1932. Together they farmed in the Mound Red/Falun District until 1970 when they retired to Ponoka, and later Doris moved to Rimbey. Doris' love for life was her husband, Rex, her seven children, all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her nieces, one nephew, and her many cherished friends. She was a very special mother; full of love and laughter, and always had a great story to tell about the old days. Doris was passionate about good old country music, as she called it, and she also loved to ride horses, especially her prized Hackney horse named Nubby. "We will always remember Mom for her love, kindness, strength,
and her great sense of humour. She was a beautiful soul." Doris will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son, Bart Lindsey of Bentley; and her five daughters, Marlene Monteith of Bentley; Joan Beamish of Bentley; Trudy (Murray) Odenbach of Bentley; Betty (Martin) Kiffiak of Lethbridge; and Cheryl Dunn also of Bentley; as well as fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother, Gorman Larson of Salmon Arm, B.C.; her nieces and nephew; and many friends. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Rex in 1982; her son, Dalton in 2006; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Phyllis Ring and Gert Ransom. With respect for Doris' wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation took place at the Wetaskiwin Funeral Home and Crematorium, Wetaskiwin, Alberta.
