LEBOLDUS
Dr. Allan Francis
1953-2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic death of Allan Leboldus. Allan was born and raised in Rimbey, lived all his adult life in Edmonton, and died in the Canmore area doing what he loved – hiking and photographing the Rocky Mountains. Since the death of his wife Claudette (nee Langevin) in 2004, the mountains have provided Allan much peace and solace. Allan recently retired from a rewarding pediatric dental career. He loved children and connected with them in a unique and special way. The art and science of dentistry carried over into his hobbies. His creativity and attention to detail shone through in his photography, cooking, as well as his wood and metal work. Allan`s love of the outdoors was reflected in his extensive travels and numerous kayak, ski and hiking trips in the mountains he so cherished. His creative sense of thoughtfulness, generous nature, and unique way with words will sorely be missed. Family was very important to Allan. He will be dearly missed by his daughters Jaclyn (Jeff Lucente) and Dana (Ryan Campbell) and grandson Liam Campbell; sisters Maureen (Joe Gustafson), Kathleen (Eugene Starko), Margo (Elmer Kusiek) and Doris (John Campbell), brother Michael (Kitt Chanthaboune) and sister-in-law Helen; as well as his mother-in-law Ghislaine Langevin, sisters-in-law Carmen (Oscar Amyotte), Marcella (Gordon Banco), Rachel (George Caron), Michelle (Daniel Bussière), Louise Langevin (Darron Ward) and Pauline (Paul Marrissette). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Allan was predeceased by his wife Claudette; his parents Frank and Bernice Leboldus; his brother John Leboldus; his nephew David Leboldus and his father-in-law Georges Langevin. Reverend Leo Floyd will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Assumption Church, 9040 – 95 Avenue, Edmonton on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Private interment at a later date.
