KENDREW
Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Kendrew of Rimbey, Alberta, formerly of Eckville, passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the age of 91 years.
Liz was born on June 14, 1918 in Jarrow, England, and arrived in Canada with her parents and family, who settled in the Hespero area when she was six years of age. She attended and completed her schooling at the Blueberry School. On November 8, 1937, Liz was united in marriage to Roy Kendrew. Together they made their home in the Markerville District where they farmed for many years. In 1960, they moved to the Eckville area, and later Liz relocated to Rimbey to be with Roy who was in Rimbey Long Term Care. Liz was the definition of a 'perfect' Grandma! She crocheted, knitted, and she especially took great pleasure in cooking for her family. Liz would always take the time to venture out for a walk, where she would enjoy visiting her many friends.

Liz will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son, Keith (Lil) Kendrew of Rimbey; her daughter, Sheila Forsen, also of Rimbey; as well as seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and six great, great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her two brothers, Ken (Vivian) Holland of Rimbey; and Tom Holland, also of Rimbey; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. Liz was predeceased by her beloved husband Roy in 1995; her son-in-law, Art in 1999; her great grandson, Wyatt in 2007; and her three sisters, Mary, Lilly and Daisy.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Liz's Life was held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rimbey on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Klassen officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
