On January 26, 2009, Mrs. Elsie Holmen of Sylvan Lake passed away at the age of 88 years.
Elsie is lovingly remembered by her three daughters Barbara (Keith) Owen of Camrose; Linda Keenan of Edmonton, and Gail (Bob) Allan of Bentley; and son-in-law Wayne Bernes of Vermilion; eight grandchildren Michele Stafford, Kent Bernes, Rob and Michael Keenan, Darcy and Kory Owen, Kristi and Brett Allan; thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; her sister Dorothy Johnson of Sylvan Lake, brother Harvey (Margaret) Dickau of Vancouver; sisters-in-law Joan Dickau, Norma Dickau, and Eileen Holmen; brothers-in-law Jim Walker and Dave Davies.
Predeceased by her husband Andrew (1992), daughters Elaine (1956) and Joyce Bernes (1995), grandson Kelsey Allan (1978), son-in-law Robert Keenan (1997).
A celebration of Elsie’s life will be held from the Bentley Community Church on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Elsie Holmen to the Sylvan Lake Lodge Foundation or the Grace Lutheran Church Fund, Bentley, Alberta.
