BARBAS
Emma Amelia Barbas of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully two days before her 90th birthday at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the age of 89 years.
Emma will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son, Gerald (Gloria) Barbas of Olds; and her daughter, Lil (Keith) Kendrew of Rimbey; as well as seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and twelve great, great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister, Jean Pohl of Barrhead; and two special friends, Clara Bergey and Sheila Forsen, both of Rimbey; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was predeceased by her parents, Karl and Amanda Arndt; her beloved husband, Bill on June 19, 1999; an infant son, George in 1941; two sisters, Erna Arndt and Martha Breitkreitz; and two brothers-in-law, Otto Breitkreitz and Willie Pohl.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Emma's Life was held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rimbey on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Barry Klassen officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
