It is with deep sorrow that the family of Ervin Nelson "Dave" Davis announces that he has passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the age of 92 years. Dave was born on July 8, 1929 in Windygates, Manitoba, and was residing in Rimbey, Alberta at the time of his passing.
"His journey has just begun."
Dave leaves to mourn his five sons and their families: Thomas (Jeanne), Bryan (Ann), Randy, Gregory (Kristine), and Kerry; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He will also be sadly missed by his extended family, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; in addition to the many friends he had made over his long and full lifetime.
Dave was predeceased by all of his siblings: eight sisters and six brothers.
Dave's Family would like to thank the following medical facilities, organizations, and health care professionals, in both Rimbey and Red Deer, for the kindness and care they provided to Dave over the years and in his final months: the doctors and nurses at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre and the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre; Dave's personal doctors in Rimbey, Red Deer, and Edmonton; Alberta Health Services in Rimbey and Red Deer; and the Community Health Centre (Homecare) in Rimbey.
The family would also like to thank the Rimbey United Church and the Grace Lutheran Church in Bentley.
A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held at the Rimbey United Church next summer, with more information to follow in the months to come. He will be laid to rest at a later date in the Vig Cemetery, Bentley.
