It is with a heavy heart that the family of Frank John Cech of Bluffton, Alberta announces his peaceful passing at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the age of 80 years.
Frank was born in Rimbey on December 14, 1934 to Antonie and Joseph Frank Cech. He attended school in Bluffton where he grew up, and was united in marriage to Carole Sutherland in 1960. Frank spent 52 years working at the Rimbey Auction Mart and at Allen Olson Sales, along with farming and logging with Carole at his side. He lived life to the fullest and took up any challenge he faced with zest. Frank was truly a local icon and loved his home, his family and friends, and the area in general. He always stated he did not need to take a trip anywhere as he could have more fun between Bluffton and Rimbey than anywhere else in the world! Frank's special hobby was building birdhouses and children's toys, and countless other creations. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and his memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
Frank will be lovingly missed by his wife of 54 years, Carole; his son, Jerry (Sheila); and his daughter, Marie (Brian); in addition to four treasured grandchildren: Kara and Cory Cech; and Tia and Trent Hopper, all of Bluffton. He will also be lovingly missed by numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many friends and co-workers. Frank was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Frank's Life will be held at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre, Rimbey on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. A Private Family Interment Service took place in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Frank's Memory may be made directly to the charity of one's choice.
