Frank KUPINA

August 31, 2010

KUPINA, Frank

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our friend Frank Kupina on August 31, 2010. Frank was born in Yugoslavia in 1923. He moved to eastern Canada at the age of 14 with his parents and sister. By 18 he signed up to defend his new country in WWII. Frank was injured in Normandy France and sent home to recover. During this convalescence he met his future wife, Margaret who was in the Canadian Navy. They married and made Ontario their home where they had their son, Ron and daughter, Carol. Frank worked many jobs but carpentry is where he found his joy and made it his trade. His beloved wife Margaret passed away in 1968. That was when Frank took to travelling for his work which brought him out west. He met and will be fondly remembered by many throughout Canada and US from his travels. Frank decided to make Rimbey, Alberta his summer home in 2005 and his permanent home in 2010. The man in the big brown van will be remembered by his friendliness and courtesy that he showed to all. He was generous to his friends and charming with the ladies. Frank always loved a good laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed.
