Known to friends and family as Franky, passed away at the High River Hospital on March 11 after a 5 year journey of dealing with cancer. Franky was born in Calgary on Dec 23, 1961 to Marcella (nee Whiteford) and Frank Kurta. He attended school there before entering the world of work where he chose drywalling and stuccowing as his trade. Examples of his work remain on public buildings and private dwellings in Calgary, Saskatoon, Rimbey, Bluffton and more. A hard worker, Franky demanded perfection on the job, for himself as well as others, then was up to enjoying a friendly beer at the end of a work day.
Franky was predeceased by his mother, Marcella, brother Jimmy, and maternal and paternal grand parents. He is survived by two daughters; Dacey of B.C. and Cheryl Ann (Blake) and children of North Battleford SK. also his father Frank Kurta (Irene) of Bluffton Ab., two sisters Terry (Terry Lemieux) of High River Ab., Sandra (Joe Lamarsh) Claresholm Ab., brother Joseph Delorme of Calgary as well as numerous well loved nieces and nephews. Franky will be remembered by an extended family of uncles, auntys, cousins, friends and co workers.
A service was held at Pearsons Forest Lawn Chapel, March 17, Calgary Ab. "I've finished lifes chores assigned to me so put me on a boat. If others wonder why I'm miss'n, just tell em I've gone fishin" (Dalmar Pepper)
