Mr. Frank Preston Foster of Alder Flats passed away at the
Red Deer Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the
age of 79 years.
Frank was born in Chesterfield, England and he with his family
moved to Garfield, Alberta, farming with his brothers on the
family farm and working for neighbours until moving to Alder
Flats in 1950 when he married Hannah Parker. Together
they farmed and raised their family.
Frank loved his horses and often had school children to the
farm for sleigh rides. Frank loved all children and spent hours
visiting and entertaining grandchildren and great
grandchildren. Franks tenderness and kindness will forever
be remembered.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Hannah, son; Ted
(Pat), grandchildren: Tricia (Trevor), Tony (Lisa), Kevin,
Laurel, & Spencer; great grandchildren: Christina, Cassandra,
& Erin; daughter; Jeannie (Mike); grandchildren; Darla,
Darwen (Sarah); great grandchildren; Chloe, Terrek & Jaidan;
son; Wilf (Candee); grandchildren; Pamela & Bradley; and
son; Bernard (Shannon). He is also survived by his brothers
and sisters; Harry, Ethel, Hilda, Jim and George, numerous
nieces and nephews.
Frank was predeceased by his mother and father Mary and
Fred, siblings; Fred, Doris, Arnold, Ron, Ken, Annie, Grace,
Joyce and Irene.
A time of fellowship and refreshment to celebrate Mr. Frank
Preston Foster’s life was held at the Alder Flats Royal Canadian
Legion on Saturday June 11, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. Cremation
entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain
House.
