Gordon Allen WHILLANS


Mr. Gordon Allen Whillans of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the age of 70 years.

Gordon was born on December 9, 1941 at High River, Alberta. He attended school, and played hockey and baseball at Blackie, Alberta. Gordon worked at the High River Auction Mart and farmed with his brother, Norman. He joined UFA, Calgary in 1971, and retired at UFA, High River in 1996. Gordon and his sister, Diana moved to a farm west of Rimbey where together they raised cattle and hay.

Gordon is survived by his brother, Norman Whillans of Stavely, Alberta; his sister and co-farmer, Diana Whillans of Rimbey; his nephew, Dale Whillans of Winnipeg; and two great nephews, Brady Whillans of High River; and Aidan Whillans of Winnipeg.

With respect for Gordon’s wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Gordon’s Memory may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, #101, 6751 – 52 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 4K8.
