ELLERTSON, Harry Clarence Harry was born on September 16, 1908 at Watson, Minnesota, the second child in a family of ten to Ellert and Annie Ellertson. His parents, himself and one older brother immigrated to Canada in 1910. They settled in the Cereal, Alberta area. Harry went to school and grew up on a farm in this area. In his early teens, he moved away, working at various jobs on the railroad and on other farms. Harry ended up working at a sawmill in the Winfield, Alberta area where he met his future wife, Esther Toth. Harry married Esther on April 10, 1944. They then moved and settled in the Rimbey area. Here they farmed and raised a family of eight children. In 1973 Harry and Esther sold the farm and moved to Ponoka. This is where he lived until his passing on October 23, 2009 in Ponoka. Harry is survived by his children: Harold (Bev) Ellertson, Stan (Carol) Ellertson, Doreen McIntosh, Maryann (Garry) Hrycyk, Irene Ellertson, Karen (Joe) McHenry, special daughter Linda McDonagh; sisters Elnora Hansen, Cora Barritt and Irene Clayton; sixteen grandchildren, one special granddaughter Kelin and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Harry was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Esther in 1987; two sons, James at birth and Albert in 2002; four brothers and three sisters. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home with the Interment Service following at Forest Home Cemetery.
