Harry J. Wit of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the age of 80 years.
Harry was born in Den Haag, Netherlands on December 29, 1933. Settling in Rimbey, he was a dedicated business owner for many years, and an active and proud Rimbey resident for over 40 years. Harry loved the community and was actively involved in parks and recreation for 30 years, and enjoyed fulfilling 25 years on the school board. He also served two terms of office with the Rimbey town council, in addition to being a life member of the Kinsmen Club.

family and friends."
Harry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Annie; three sons, Ron Wit of Calgary; Robert (Maureen) Wit also of Calgary; and Marco Wit (Stacey Geiseger) of Red Deer; and two daughters, Anita (Tim) McDougall of St. Albert; and Linda Wit (Doug Graham) of Red Deer. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by six cherished grandchildren and one great grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Harry was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
With respect for Harry's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
