BUCKINGHAM
Hazel Buckingham of Rimbey, Alberta passed away in the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Tuesday January 13, 2015 at the age of 93 years. Hazel Buckingham was born to John and Mary Prysko on November 22, 1921 on the family farm near Nisku which is now part of the Edmonton International Airport. She was the youngest of nine children. She moved to Bluffton in 1937. She married Walter in 1961 and moved to the family farm. One of Hazel's greatest joys was working the family farm alongside her husband. She took great pleasure from her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved tending her garden and took great pride in it. She also enjoyed camping and had many hobbies from sewing to woodworking. Hazel will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters Vivian (Al) Brissette of Calgary; Brenda (Romeo) Denomme of Bluffton; and Pauline (John) Foss of Bluffton. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by 14 grandchildren, Al, Susan, Rob, Katrina, Jason, Erin, Noel, Austin, Nicole, Jeff, Jamie, Wendy, Cindy, and Tracy; and 17 great- grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Ryley, Isaac, Aidynn, Seth, Ryley, Tessa, Danette, Marcedes, Alexis, Nash, Nell, Emma, Kiera, Zac, and Liam; as well as a host of other relatives and close friends. Hazel was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Walter, and her sons Clarence and Bob and one grandson Clifford. A Memorial Service & Celebration of Hazel's life was held from the Hoadley Evangelical Missionary Church, Hoadley, Alberta, on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Steve Budd officiating. Interment followed in the Hoadley Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Hazel's memory may be made to S.T.A.R.S.
