Helen passed away peacefully at her home in Wetaskiwin on August 17, 2010.

She was born in Sedalia, Alberta on July 28, 1923, the second oldest of five children born to Ruth Satre and Conrad Carlson. Helen grew up on a farm near Sedalia and later moved with the family to a farm in the Richmond area south of Westerose, Alberta. She met and later married Reinhold Rode and resided on a farm in the Lonesome Pine District. They had five children. Helen moved to Wetaskiwin in 1975 and married Earl Lockhart in 1978. She resided in Wetaskiwin until her passing. Helen loved family and visitors and her flowers.

Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Earl Lockhart; mother, and step-father, Ruth & Albert Comstock; father, Conrad Carlson; sisters, Evelyn Breum, Bernice Petry and brother, Chester Carlson.

She will always be remembered by her brother, Stan Carlson; children, Myrna Rode, Alfred Rode and Glenda Wright, Gary and Susan (nee Bell) Rode, Claire and Kevin Riddiough, Ruth and Brian Magas as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; step-children, Carol (Lockhart) Balogh and Eddie Lind, Ron and Lena Lockhart, Alan and Marie Lockhart, Robert and Suzanne Lockhart.

A funeral service was held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Wetaskiwin.

Memorial donations gratefully accepted to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta.
