In Loving Memory ~
Helen Marie Taylor of Rimbey, AB passed away on July 8, 2022 in Edmonton, AB, surrounded by her family following a brief illness. Marie was born March 31, 1955. She was the eldest child of Thomas and Janet Stout. Marie, often called "Button Nose" by her uncles, was raised on the family farm in the Lavesta district. She grew up surrounded by her paternal grandparents and her Uncle Gene, as well as numerous other uncles, aunts and cousins. Marie attended Bluffton School and then finished her education at the Rimbey High School. Marie belonged to two local 4-H clubs, as well as studying piano for many years. Marie married Larry Taylor on July 13, 1985. They were blessed with two children, Tammie and Gordon.
Marie's children were her greatest joy in life. Marie loved crafting, gardening, tending to her flowers, camping, cards, puzzles, and board games. Marie had a very kind and generous heart, always gravitating toward those who needed her most. Marie was very generous with her time and always willing to lend a hand when needed. She spent many hours volunteering for fundraisers for the Blindman Youth Center. Marie donated many handmade blankets to the residents at the Valley View Manor and the Women's Shelter in Red Deer.
Another great joy in Marie's life were her six grand-nephews and her grand-niece. She spent many hours creating perfect gifts for them, as well as for her nieces and nephews. Marie especially enjoyed the time spent with her mom. They spent many hours working together in the yard. Marie loved holiday celebrations, family get-togethers, wiener roasts and the days spent each fall helping prepare apples for Grandma's apple sauce and apple dishes that were then given to family and friends.
Marie will forever be loved and sadly missed by Larry, her husband of almost thirty seven years; her daughter, Tammie and her son, Gordon; her mother Janet Stout; her sisters, Ann (Rodney) Mayner and Dawn Stout; her brother, Blair (Kathy) Stout; her sister-in-law, Susan Stout; her brother-in-law, Gord (Rose) Taylor. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Marie was predeceased by her father, Tom; her brother, Brad; her mother-in-law, Nell; as well as her grandparents; and her nephew, Peter Stout.
A Private Family Celebration will be held at a later date.
