Herb passed away peacefully on December 26, 2009 at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre. He was born October 28, 1932 in Bentley, Alberta and resided there all his life. Herb attended schools in the Bentley area and post secondary in Calgary. For a short period of time he worked in the oilfield and then pursued his life long passion for farming. Herb was predeceased by this parents Jacob and Katherine, 5 sisters Alvina, Hilda, Emma, Viola and Doreen, ex-wife Dorothy, 2 daughters Kathy and Ramona and son Cameron. He is survived by daughter Jo Ann (Philip) Butcher, sons Barry, Alan and Phillip (Angela), grandchildren Edward, Craig, Kelly, Alex and Tyson and great grandchildren Caden, Jensen and Bryer. Herb is also survived by 2 brothers Melvin and Glen, 4 sisters Verna, Anne, Gladys and Diana, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and special friend Goldie Anne Fargo. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2009 at 1:00pm at the Bentley Community Church. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prostate Cancer Canada,145 Front Street East, Suite 306 Toronto Ontario M5A 1E3 or to the Lacombe Community Health Care Center - Acute Care, 5430-47 Avenue, Lacombe Alberta, T4L 1G8,.
