KONDRO
On Tuesday, May 20th, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer, Hilkka Kondro passed away in the Rimbey Hospital & Care Centre surrounded by her family. Hilkka is survived by her loving husband, Joe, her children Lorraine, Kevin, Trina, and Mark (Sheila) and her grandchildren Jonah, Sabrina, Christopher and Corisa. Hilkka will be forever remembered for her Finnish sisu, exhibiting fortitude and grit in dealing with difficult situations. A celebration of Hilkka's life was held from Wilson's Funeral Chapel in Rimbey, Alberta on Monday May 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshment at the Rimbey Senior's Drop In Centre followed the interment. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Lung Association Central Alberta Chapter 2-4342 50 Avenue Red Deer, AB T4N 3Z6.
