In Loving Memory ~

Mr. Ian Ross passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 1:30 a.m. after many health issues over the last few years. His wife Norma was by his side along with her sister Penny, and all his immediate family arrived soon after.

Ian was born in Chiswick, England on May 19, 1944 to his parents, William "Bill" Joseph and Mary Catherine "Cate" Ross. He came to Canada with his parents and older sister Wenda in 1945, and the family settled in the Lincoln District. Ian attended the Lincoln School, which was located just half mile west of his current homestead.

On December 5, 1964, Ian married Norma Muddle of Rimbey, and they still have all of the wedding party except their master of ceremonies, Glenn Olson.

Ian and Norma purchased the farm from Ian's parents in 1971 and moved to the farm on Mother's Day of 1972. They are the third and current owner of the Ross Family Farm on the Lincoln Road (also known as NICK's Dairy on the big hay shed). Ian was a butcher and farmer his whole life, and he loved his friends and neighbors as much as his family.

Ian is survived by his wife, Norma; his son, Christopher Ian Ross; his daughter, Kathy Mae (Tony) Kamlah; granddaughter, Dana Ann (Daniel) Bajema, and they are expecting their first child in mid February; grandson, Jeffery Tony (Grejanka) Kamlah, and their sons, Hayden Jeffery, Riley Greg, and Carter William (named after Ian, and we call him Wild Bill).

Also left to mourn are his brother, Brendin (Roberta) and their children, Brian and Anita; his brother, Terry (Lynda) and their children, Sherrill and Cheryl; his older sister Wenda's children, Noreen Vig and her son, Derek, and Wayne (Erin) Vig and their children, Devon and LaRae.

Ian is also survived by Norma's family: her brother, Allan (Pat); and sister, Penny (Pat); and their families.

Ian was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Mary Ross; his sister, Wenda Vig 40 years ago on January 13; Wenda's husband, Don Vig; niece, Laurie Vig; nephew, Daniel Ross; and Norma's parents, Norman & Janie Muddle.

A Funeral Service was held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church at 12:00 p.m., with burial at Gull Lake Cemetery.

If desired, memorial donations may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
