MEIKLE
Mr. James "Jim" Leslie Meikle of Rimbey, Alberta, formerly of Hoadley, Alberta passed away peacefully at home with his family on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as one who possessed a caring nature and a willingness to lend a helping hand. His passion for the farm, and his love for animals, ensures that Jim will forever be remembered not only as a farmer, but also as a wonderful horseman. He was always of community mind; thinking of ways to help others through his work, through church, and through volunteering in his community. Jim was one you could count on, and his thoughtfulness for others was especially evident in his many roles to help the young people; particularly in 4-H, of which Jim was very involved. "He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him."
Jim will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Florence; and his five daughters, Edith (Roy) Nesom of Bowden; Evelyn (Lloyd) Taylor of Bowden; Marie (Cliff) Balan of Bluffton; Leslie (Wayne) Oszli, also of Bowden; and Laura Bartman of Paynton, Saskatchewan. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by eleven grandchildren, Charlotte, Cheryl, Corry, Jill, Charles, Christopher, Tyler, Kelli, Ben, Beth and Alexander; ten great grandchildren; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his mother and dad; his granddaughter, Kelli Balan in 2001; his brother, Bill Meikle; and two sisters, Bertha Meikle and Anna Weidner. A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Jim's Life was held at the Hoadley Community Hall, Hoadley on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Allen Meikle officiating. Interment followed in the Hoadley Cemetery, Hoadley. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Jim's Memory may be made directly to the charity of one's choice.
