EDWARDS
James "Winston" Edwards, born February 28, 1941 in Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully at his home in Rimbey, Alberta on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the age of 72 years.
Winston is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Arlene (Poffenroth); and his children, Gary (Deborah) Edwards of Drayton Valley; Mark (Kelly) Edwards of Fox Creek; Lynn (Gene) Steeves of Bluffton; and Lora (Shawn) Rode of Rimbey. Winston will also be sadly missed by his cherished grandchildren, from Gary and Deborah's family: Ashtin (Bonnie), Breanne (Travis), Lyndin, Chantelle (Tony), and Dominic; from Mark and Kelly's family: Robyn (Nate), Marty (Tracy), Travis, Ben, Mac, and Molly; from Lynn and Gene's family: Matt, Carla (Scott), Erin (Gabe), Emily (Dan), and Clinton; and from Lora and Shawn's family: Alena (Josh), Chelsea (Tom), Ethan (Kim), and Graeme; in addition to ten treasured great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his brother, Brian (Mary) Edwards of Sylvan Lake; his brother-in-law, Ed Lorenowicz and family of Okotoks; his brother-in-law, Vernon (Bev) Poffenroth of Pigeon Lake; in addition to many nieces and nephews, other family members, and a host of friends. Winston was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Lillian Edwards, an older sister, Betty Jean Lorenowicz, and an older brother, Mervin.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Winston's Life was held at the Rimbey Christian Reformed Church, Rimbey on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend David Holmes officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
