Jean Mills passed away peacefully early on August 13, 2010, after a lengthy illness. During her last years, she was ably cared for by the staff in Continuing Care at Rimbey General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband, Bill Mills, she is survived by her sons, Blaine (Michelle) from Calgary, Rod from Red Deer and Colin who lives on the family farm in Bluffton. Jean was born on November 26, 1931, in Calgary, to parents William Edward (Ed) and Jessie Kunder, from the age of five, she was raised in the home of Jim and Florence McKevitt, in Red Deer Lake. In that family she will be lovingly missed by Gail Skidmore, her children, Devon and Teri (Rob) and their families from Chilliwack, BC; and Gary McKevitt from Protection Island BC. Jean had a great sense of humour and all who knew her will remember her “one-liners” which ably sized up any situation in which she found herself. She and Bill lived in the Rimbey area for over forty-five years and will be remembered by many friends and family. We would like to thank the many nurses and care workers at Rimbey Hospital who showed such interest in providing Jean during her residence there. A celebration of her life is planned for the fall, 2010.
