On December 12, 2019, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Joanne peacefully passed away at the age of 75 at her home in Oakville, Ontario. Cherished wife of Brian for 52 years, beloved mother of Danielle (Ian) and Suzanne (Scott), adored grandmother of Abby and Dale. The daughter of Ellen and Jack Parry, Joanne grew up in Rimbey, Alberta, a place she loved. She was an active teenager and after school she would often fold papers for her father in the newspaper he published, the Rimbey Record. Joanne will also be dearly missed by her sister Diane Assinger (Rick) in Red Deer. Joanne was loving, warm, and welcoming. She loved her family, adored her grandchildren beyond measure, and actively sought to be a positive force in her community. Many benefited from her expertise and care as a teacher and later in her practice as a registered psychologist. Her quiet but formidable strength enriched the lives of those around her and will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory to WellSpring, Kerr Street Ministries or Maple Grove United Church in Oakville would be welcomed.
