Joe Rumsey longtime resident of Beaverlodge, passed away at the Beaverlodge Hospital on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the age of 53 years. Joe was born December 10, 1956 in Rimbey, Alberta and was raised on a farm east of Bluffton, Alberta. He married Pearl in 1975 and had two sons, Calvin and Darryl. Joe's career in the oilfield started in 1974 at the age of 16 years. This took him to many places throughout the world. Joe was predeceased by his dad Bertram Rumsey in 1967. He is survived by his mother Helen Rumsey in Rimbey; 12 siblings: Audrey (Norm) in Penhold, Violet (Vern) in Eckville, Bertha in Edmonton, Darlene (Brian) in Red Deer, Bert (Penny) in Lacombe, Terry in Consort, Ernie (Monika) in Rimbey, Debbie (Russ) in Spruce Grove, Joanne (Riehard) in Red Deer, Joyce (David) in Red Deer, Stan (JoAnne) in Bentley and Candace (Abu) in Red Deer. Joe is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Beaverlodge Alliance Church, in Beaverlodge, Alberta at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke of Alberta Foundation.
