SMITH
Mr. John Edward Smith of Bentley, Alberta passed away suddenly at Woodynook, Alberta on Thursday January 27, 2011 at the age of 62 years. Predeceased by his father Melvin Smith, John is survived by his loving wife Valerie of Bentley, six sons; Curtis Smith (Brenna Madil) of Ft. McMurray, Grant (Laura) Smith of Bentley, Eric Smith of Bentley, Monty Smith (Emily Hnatiuk) of Bentley, Riley Smith of Calgary and Darren Smith of Sydney, Nova Scotia and two very special grandsons Wacey and Gunnar. John also leaves to mourn his mother Mertie Smith of Ridgecrest, California, one brother; Arthur Smith of Ridgecrest, California, two sisters; Jane Smith of Davis, California, Ruth (Scott) O'Neil of Ridgecrest, California and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. John loved motorcycles and flying, but was most happy spending time with his wife Val and his boys. A celebration of Johns life will be held from the Bentley Agriplex on Tuesday February 1, 2011 at 1:30 PM with Shealagh McClelland DM. officiating. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Sylvan Lake & District Victim Services Unit, 5030 - 48th Avenue Sylvan Lake, Alberta T4S 1G7 or to S.T.A.R.S 1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570 Calgary, Alberta T2E 8M7.
