Josie Ellen McKay
1956 - 2009
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Josie Ellen McKay at the Rimbey General Hospital on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the age of 53. She passed away peacefully after a short but brave battle with cancer. Josie was born on January 30, 1956 in Princeton, British Columbia to Raymond and Kathleen Huff. She was raised in B.C. until she was 15 at which time she moved to Stettler, Alberta after the passing of her loving mother. Josie met the love of her life Doug McKay, while residing in Stettler and they later married on December 1, 1973. Together they raised 3 beautiful children in their 35 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving husband Doug, and her children, Amy and Rodger Dolo, Coy and Amy McKay, and Elisha Mckay, and four cherished grandchildren Tarran, Mackenzie, Sierra and Alexis. She is also survived by her sister Tammy and Dick Routley and their son Richard and sister Dawn Hugg and her son Nathan. The loving support of her friends and family sustained her during her difficult last days. Although she spent time at other hospitals, nothing compared to the care she received at the Rimbey Hospital. A special thanks to those involved in her care. The funeral service was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Rimbey, Alberta on Saturday, May 30, 2009.
