Julia Ann (Witsten) Griffin, passed away quietly in her sleep at Cowichan Valley District Hospital, Duncan BC on 17 Sept. 2018, after a lengthy illness.
Julia was born to Christian and Josefine Witsten, July 1925, Rimbey AB.
She was raised by Foster parents, John and Catherine Odenbach, from the time she was 6 Months old until she left home at 16, to work in Calgary. John and Catherine were early homesteaders and longtime residents of Rimbey.
Julia is survived by her husband, Bob, a resident of a long-term care home, three children; Katherina of Edmonton AB, Warren of Kamloops BC and Janice of Vernon BC., two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Julia was pre-deceased by her brothers Lorance 1960 and John 1969, her Foster parents John 1966 and Catherine 1973; and her natural parents Christian 1977 and Josefine 1983.
There was no funeral at her request and she was cremated and buried at Royal Oak Cemetery, Victoria, BC.
