Julius ALBERS

Julius Albers passed peacefully to his rest at the Lacombe Hospital on May 13, 2009. He was 98 years old.

Julius was the 10th child of Peter and Christina Albers. He was born and raised in the Water Glen District east of Ponoka.

Julius married Violet Ellen Eklund in 1937. They farmed close to the Albers family farm for several years. Then after a short-lived move to Sydney, BC Julius bought land and settled west of Bentley. This became his home for over 60 years of his life. Julius and Violet continued to live on the home farm in a mobile home during their retirement years. Julius kept busy working in his shop, gardening and enjoying the peaceful country life he loved until he was ninety-five. He moved into the Royal Oak Manor in Lacombe just before his 97th birthday.

Julius was predeceased by his wife Violet Ellen (1994), his son David Richard (1964) and daughter Mary Louise (2001)

Julius is survived by his children Howard and Agnes (Eno) Albers of Sylvan Lake, Stanley and Marlene (Klammer)of Alberta Beach, Lloyd and Judy (Albers) Gorbenko of Lacombe, Alberta, Theodore Albers and Penny Albers of Red Deer. He leaves fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Julius was a man who had a deep abiding trust in God and although he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him we look forward to that great reunion in heaven when Jesus comes again.
