TEMPANY

June Rose Tempany of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Long Term Care on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the age of 87 years.

June was born in Cereal, Alberta on June 29, 1924, the third eldest of eleven children born to Charles Kelly and Pearl (nee Dixon) Kelly. She met her future husband, Roy while working in the Cochrane area, and they were united in marriage on February 2, 1945 at the same time as Roy was serving in the Air Force. They resided in Exshaw, Alberta from 1950 until 1989, relocating to Rimbey at that time. June loved time spent with her family and friends. She was always prepared to set another place at the table and make up another bed. Many children and young people were nurtured at Roy and June's for lengthy spells, and June adored all babies and was a mother and grandmother to all! She also loved to travel, fish, camp, sew, and do ceramics. June enjoyed curling, bowling, and played softball, in addition to playing the guitar and accordion in an all-ladies band. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

June will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her two children, Ian (Susan) Tempany of Bluffton; and Sandra (Lloyd) Wright of Drayton Valley; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Liana (Scott), Geoff (Yvonne), Nathan (Michelle), Kevin, and Greg (Stephanie); and her treasured great grandchildren, Tori, Sam, and Gracie. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister, Verna Collard; and her brothers, Jack (Hazel) Kelly; Myrle (Pat) Kelly; and Ronald (Judy) Kelly; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Roy in 2000; an infant son, Raymond in 1945; an infant daughter, Royle in 1953; her sisters, Violet Peterson and Orphelia Beaton; and her brothers, Lawrence, Harold, Robert, and Gordon.

A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of June's Life was held at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Interment followed in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey.
