Mrs. Kathleen "Kay" Jamieson (nee Ewing) of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Area Three on her birthday, Monday, March 8, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Kay was born in Eston, Saskatchewan and grew up in Delburne, Alberta. She was united in marriage to Dave Jamieson in 1949, and they farmed their first eight years together in the Great Bend District, before moving into the town of Delburne where they raised their family. Kay and Dave moved to Rimbey in 1979. Kay was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and she took pleasure in playing cards and games with friends and family. Kay and Dave also enjoyed many happy memories during their retirement years, in their trailer at the Sunset Campground at Gull Lake. Kay will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son, Allan and his wife, Barbara Jamieson of Calgary; as well as three treasured grandchildren, Bryce, Melissa and Lanny, all of Calgary. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister, Cora (Ron) Cason of Calgary; and many other family members and friends. Kay was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dave Jamieson in 2001; her daughter, Susan in 2009; her parents, George and Charlotte Ewing; and her three brothers, Don, Elwin and Bob. A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Kay's Life will be held at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Don McFadyen officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
