In Loving Memory ~

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved "Ma", Katrina Ann Hohn (Tkacik), after fighting a courageous battle with unwavering strength and determination, on June 9, 2024 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 75 with Leanne, Jay and Tanya by her side.

Ma loved to play games with her family and looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed her weekly card games with "her ladies".

She spent countless hours in her yards creating her own little pieces of paradise and loved to share these spaces with her family, friends and cats.

Her love for her cats was unmatched and evident by her strict daily regime of spoiling every cat she had. We all joked and teased her about this but now Jay and Tanya will admit that these regimes are real requirements and actual demands of Patches' that must be met every single day.

Ma had an amazing sense of humour and loved to be a part of the loudness, laughter and craziness of her family.

She loved working with, meeting and being around people as was obvious in her choices of her life endeavors.

Ma was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's biggest supporter and cheerleader whether it was career choices, hockey, soccer, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, singing, dancing, gymkhana, lacrosse, skating or big rig racing.

She rarely missed any of our important events or milestones, even when her health would not allow her to be there in person she still watched and cheered on via facetime or live streaming. Anything that was important to us was important to Ma.

Unconditional love, patience, resiliency, compassion, kindness and the gift of gab are all qualities that Ma had that will live on forever in every one of us.

Katherena (Katrina) Ann was born to Frank and Anne Tkacik in Calgary, AB on March 17, 1949. She was only 3 days old when they moved to the Leedale District where she spent her younger years on the Tkacik family farm.

She married Leo Hohn on July 15, 1967 and moved to the Hohn family farm. On May 12, 1968 they welcomed their daughter, Leanne, into their world and on May 1, 1972 Jay came along and completed their little family. They remained on the farm until 1991 when they moved into Rimbey. In 1997 they moved to Calgary, AB where Ma was able to spend her days looking after her grandchildren.

After Katrina's mom, Anne, passed they moved to Olds, AB where she enjoyed being close to her sister, Diane, again. In 2007 they moved back to the Rimbey area where she remained until 2023 when Ma moved to Leanne and Mike's in Cochrane, AB due to health reasons.

Ma will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her loving children

Leanne (Mike) Edwards and Jay (Tanya) Hohn.

Her grandchildren Kendra Tatebe (fiancé Pete Polanowski), Ryley Hohn (fiancée Raili McGhee), Brooklynn (Brady) Riplinger, Kassidy Hohn (Kaelen Tuuttila), Kaitlyn Butcher (Stephen Webb), Triana Hohn (Jarod McAusland) and Alissa Butcher.

Her great grandchildren Tyler Tatebe, Evan Tatebe, Wren Hohn, and Mila Danilov.

Ma will also be lovingly remembered by her brother Tony Tkacik, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Katrina was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Anne Tkacik, her sister, Diane Jaffray, and her husband, Leo Hohn.
