November 13, 1950 - September 25, 2024

In Loving Memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry William Taylor on September 25, 2024 at the age of 73 years. Larry was born November 13, 1950 in Oliver, BC to Stanley and Nellie Taylor.

Larry was the youngest of three children. He grew up in the Okanagan Valley and attended school there. Larry left school at an early age to help support his family. He began working at a young age, peeling logs for 10 cents a log. Larry had numerous interests growing up. He loved hunting, fishing, and breaking Quarter Horses with his brother Gord on the family ranch near Oliver.

Larry was living in Calgary, and working in the Rimbey area driving trucks, when he met his future wife. On July 13, 1985 Larry married Marie Stout and they settled in Rimbey. Together they raised two children, Tammie and Gordon.

Larry drove trucks for a living until a work accident forced him to retire in 2007. Larry loved camping, card games, quadding, and family get togethers. He especially enjoyed his large collection of western movies. His favourite actor was John Wayne.

Larry was an excellent cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows and canning vegetables with Tammie. Larry loved anything mechanical, including his extensive collection of musical Christmas ornaments.

Larry spoke fondly of his life in the Okanagan. Unfortunately, health issues prevented him from returning there to visit his family and friends. Even as Larry's health declined, and he was admitted to the hospital, he was very positive and enjoyed his visits with family and friends. Larry passed away on September 25, 2024 at the Rimbey Hospital.

Larry is survived by his children, Tammie of Rimbey, Gordon of Edmonton, as well as two sons from his first marriage, Terry and Mike of B.C. Larry will also be remembered by his older brother, Gord of B.C.; and his mother-in-law, Janet Stout, whom he fondly called Mom. Larry is also remembered by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Susan Stout of Breton, Rodney and Ann Mayner of Bluffton, Dawn Stout of Rimbey, and Blair and Kathy Stout of Bluffton.

Larry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Nellie, and an infant sister; his wife, Marie in July 2022; his father-in-law, Thomas Stout; his sister-in-law, Rose Taylor; his brother-in-law Brad Stout; and his nephew, Peter Stout.

In honour of Larry's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
