Laverne Charles Lundgard of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the age of 75 years.
Laverne was born on November 28, 1946 to Charles and Helga Lundgard. He was raised in the Royce and Lubeck Districts at Hines Creek, Alberta.
Along with his wife Carol, they farmed and raised their three sons there until moving off the farm in 1998.
Laverne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol; and his three sons: Charles (Julie), Chris (Janelle), and Vern (Nichole); as well as six grandchildren: Tyler, Dylan, Kaya, Adysen, Parker, and Bryson; and one great grandchild, Bentley.
He will also be remembered by his brothers: Glen (Sue), Ron (Shirley), and Peter (Mary); his sisters-in-law Kathleen (Humio) Nakagawa, and Jennifer (Dave) Porterfield; and his brother-in-law Leslie (Isabelle) Campbell; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Laverne was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Helga.
Laverne's family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre for the compassionate care during his short stay there.
With respect for Laverne's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
