GURNEY

Mr. Leonard Blendle Gurney of Rimbey, Alberta passed away in the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Thursday September 28, 2017 at the age of 85 years.

Leonard was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia in 1932 to Marion and Leonard Gordon Gurney. He lived and worked in British Columbia until the age of 19 then moved to Stettler, Alberta. Leonard worked as a truck driver and it is there he met and married his wife Barb. They married on October 8, 1960. They were blessed with three beautiful children; Stephen in 1964, Corrine in 1965 and David in 1967.

Len and Barb made their home in various places over the years. First in Gadsby, Alberta then in Brooks, 100 Mile House, Turner Valley and Smedin. During this time Len worked as a trucker, a mechanic and a welder. The couple then settled into retirement when they moved to Rimbey in 2002.

Leonard was sadly predeceased by all of his children Stephen, Corrine and David as well as by his Father Leonard Gordon Gurney, his Mother Marion Gurney and by two of his brothers; Wade and Terry.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife Barb, his Brother Bernie Gurney, nieces, nephews and a close circle of friends.

In respecting Leonard's wishes, no funeral services will be held. Cremation has taken place and Leonard's cremated remains will be intered in the Gadsby Cemetery at a later date.

If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
