Lloyd George Holmes passed away peacefully at Resthaven Lodge in Sidney BC. July 14/21 with his daughter by his side at the age of 96 yrs.
Lloyd was born in Loverna.Sk. With his twin brother Leslie arriving moments after. Their family moved and settled in Bentley AB. Lloyd and Les both became pillars of the Bentley community co-owning and operating the Bentley Mercantile and a large, successful purebred Hereford ranch just outside of town named Twin L Herefords.
Lloyd married his wife Sharon in 1967 they lived a happy active life on the farm for many years travelling l,attending and participating in cattle events.
Lloyd was a kind, gentle, generous man with a fabulous sense of humor. He always saw the best in people and had a smile on his face.
Lloyd and Sharon retired to Vancouver Island in 2007 where he remained until his death. He loved the flowers, ocean and the mild weather.
Lloyd was predeceased by his wife Sharon, his brother Les, sister Doris. Lloyd is survived by his two daughters; Stacy Freeman, Catherine Holmes, grandchildren; Nicole Freeman, Brett Freeman ( Samantha), Tupelo Morris, Kalyx Morris. Special thanks to caregivers Alma and Cremson Gumiran, neighbor Lily Yee.
A celebration of Lloyds life will be held in Sept at a yet to be determined date and venue in Bentley or Rimbey.
