Loretta "Lori" Johnson

Loretta Joan Johnson (née Miller) of Bentley went home to our Lord on February 16th at the age of 66 years. She was the chosen daughter of Julia and Nelson, and sister of James, all of whom have predeceased her. Lori is survived by Charles, her beloved husband of 46 years, as well as her three children and six grandchildren: Todd and daughter Ashlyn Johnson of Stettler, Andrea (Martin), Alyssa and Danny Lang of Red Deer, and Dana (Kevin), Joseph, Noah, and Lucy Wiens of Calgary. She is also survived by numerous cousins as well as her newly discovered biological sisters Dolores, Dianne, and Juhl. Lori was raised in the Lacombe area, and considered her time at the family cabin on Gull Lake to be some of the most cherished memories she had throughout her lifetime. She was a devoted wife and attentive mother, as well as a faithful friend who always enjoyed visiting over a cup of tea. After a scare with breast cancer six years ago, Lori discovered a new zest for life that included cruising with family, wintering in Arizona, and spending even more time with her dearest grandchildren.

A Funeral service in celebration of her full life will be held at First Baptist Church Lacombe on Thursday, February 24th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Red Deer Hospice Society #99 Arnott Ave Red Deer, Alberta T4R 3S6. Expressions of sympathy may be made through www.wilsonsfuneralchapel.ca.
