It is with great sadness the family of Lorne Ulveland announce his passing on August 18, 2021, at the age of 85.
Lorne was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and at the age of five, he moved to Salmon Arm, B.C. and then to Kamloops. He completed his university education at the University of Alberta and began his teaching career in Camrose. Rimbey became home in 1967 where he remained as Principal of the Elementary School until his retirement.
Lorne shared his passion for music as the Conductor of numerous school bands and played in many musical groups. His love of learning and travel led him to destinations around the world. Time spent with family and friends, engaging in conversation, playing games and laughing remained Lorne's most treasured memories.
Lorne is predeceased by his parents Axel and Margaret Ulveland and 14 brothers and sisters. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 61 years Lorraine, his son Dana (Char), his daughter Karina, his cherished granddaughters Meagan, Brittany, Emma and Abby, and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to everyone at Points West Living and Extendicare Red Deer for their love, compassion and the outstanding care they provided Lorne over the past several years.
Lorne was a protector and provider, an educator and teacher, a wiper of tears and offeror of advice, an encourager, a storyteller and a loyal friend with a laugh that healed the soul and a smile that brightened the darkest days.
We love you and you will forever be in our hearts.
A private family celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
