Mrs. Lucille Alberta Lemieux passed away in the Rimbey Hospital & Care Centre on Sunday December 12, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91 years. Lucille was born on April 30, 1919 to Franklin and Minnie Nugent of Gilby Alberta. She grew up on the family farm and received her education at the Leedale and Gimlet schools. In 1936, Lucille married Harold Lemieux. They were blessed with six daughters. In 1941, they purchased their family farm where they raised their daughters and where Lucille resided until her passing. Predeceased by her loving husband Harold, her parents Franklin and Minnie and by three sisters, Lucille is survived by her six daughters; Joyce Stuart of Gimlet, Fay (Dewey) Smith of Whitecourt, Carol (Keith) Quaife of Pigeon Lake, Wendy (Glenn) Graf, of Edmonton, Cindy (Doug) Rose of Bentley, and Gale Lemieux (Lyle Smith) of Edmonton. Lucille is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and one sister Virginia (Roger) Tetz of Coburg, Ontario, and one sister in law Dorothea Lemieux of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Funeral services were held from the Rimbey United Church on Saturday December 18, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Interment followed in the West Haven Cemetery Rimbey. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Rimbey United Church PO Box 350 Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0 or to the Stollery Children's Hospital 8440 - 112 Street Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2B7.
