It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Lyal Johnston announces his passing at the age of 74 years.
Lyal was born on Aug. 10 1945 on the family farm, the youngest of 7 children, where he was raised and attended the Aurora school.
Lyal married Sheila Kendrew and together they made their home and started their family in Rimbey.
Soon after Lyal started his business "LYAL's EXCAVATING" and continued running heavy equipment till his retirement.
Lyal had a great love of the good outdoors and spent many years on his numerous traplines, hunting, trapping, and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and loved retelling his numerous hunting adventures and recalling his childhood.
Lyal will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children Norma (James) Bauer of Rimbey, Angela(Brian) MacDonald of Rimbey, and Wess (Jody) Johnston of Millet as well as six grandchildren Shelley, Tyson, Logan, Kale, Kaden and Emersyn and four great grandchildren Olivia, Madilyn, Mason, Brianna and in addition numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. Lyal was predeceased by all of his brothers and sisters and his grandson Wyatt.
A celebration of Lyal's life was held at the Last West Hall on Monday December 30, 2019.
