MABEL MARGARET (PAGE) PAPINEAU Mabel Margaret Papineau of Rocky Mountain House, Alta. passed away quietly in her sleep at the Clearwater Center, on February 14, 2005 at the age of 79 years. Mabel was born on March 16, 1925 at Kelsey, Alberta. At a young age she moved west to the Hoadley area where she spent her childhood. Mabel attended school at Western Sunset. Mabel was married in Lacombe in 1944 to Lewis Russell Papineau. They moved to various locations throughout Alberta where Russell was employed in the construction industry. Mabel and Russell moved to Rocky Mountain House from Red Deer in the fall of 1969 with their family. Mabel became an active member in the community, giving endless hours of support to many projects. She was an active gardener, great cook, and a seamstress. One of Mabel’s favorite activities was bringing the family together for a big meal. She loved to play crib with her brother-inlaw Toomey Graves. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mabel was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Anna Page and her two brothers, Virgil (Bud) Page and M. Marvin Page. She is survived by her four children, Sandra Parker of Irma; Bill and Bonnie Papineau of Didsbury, Alberta; Don and Jackie Papineau of Calgary; Evonne and Robert Smulders of Black Diamond, Alberta; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grand-children; and three sisters - Edith Enright of Camrose, Alberta; Evelyn (Ralph) Mueller of Rimbey, Alberta; and Betty Mueller, of Edson, Alberta. Funeral services were held on February 22, 2005 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 1:30 pm with Rocky Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment was at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Edmonton, Alberta on Feb. 23, 2005.
