Marjorie Dorothy Goings (Iddings) of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the age of 98 years.
Marge was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on September 6, 1914. Of her almost 99 years, 90 of them were spent in Rimbey and area. Marge loved being a farmer's wife, a gardener, and a member of the Eastern Star. She was unofficially recognized as the area's local historian. If there was any discussion about local history, the solution was "ask Marge". Her home was always open to her friends and family.
Marge will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter, Penny (Alex) Waldron of Rimbey; her two treasured grandsons, Mark (Renae) Waldron; and Michael (Tralisa) Waldron, all of Houston, Texas; as well as four cherished great grandsons. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two sisters, Gwen Stevens of Edmonton; and Connie Protti of Richmond, B.C.; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Marge was predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Eva Iddings; her beloved husband, Everett in 1988; and her brother, Roland Iddings in 1938.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Marge's Life will be held at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. An Interment Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey.
