McNAUGHT

Mary McNaught (nee Giesbrecht) of Bentley, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the age of 90 years after a short, but courageous battle with old age.

Mary was born in Waldheim, Saskatchewan on October 12, 1921. Her family moved to Carrot River, Saskatchewan during the depression to escape the drought. They then moved to Leslieville, Alberta, and Mary followed her brothers on to Bentley. Here she met the love of her life, Roy McNaught and they were married on January 8, 1946. Mary and Roy bought a farm and operated it until 1996 when they sold out and moved into town. With Colleen's help, Mary was able to remain in her own home until about six weeks before her passing.

Mary will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her four daughters, Sheryl (Bruce) Boyes of Bluffton; Merle (Claude) Diot of Naramata, B.C.; Colleen of Bentley; and Janice (Kent) Cadman also of Bentley; as well as six grandchildren, Rick (Karen) Boyes of Bluffton; Tammy Boyes also of Bluffton; Andrea Diot of Vancouver, B.C.; Vince (Christa) Diot of Calgary; Jodi Cadman (Reid) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Jessie Cadman of Bentley; and three great grandchildren, Christina Boyes of Red Deer; Tory Boyes and Shaelyn Boyes, both of Bluffton; in addition to her nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roy in 2002.

Following a Family Service, there will be a Time of Fellowship and Celebration of Mary's Life which will be held at the old Bentley Community Hall, Bentley on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Mary's Memory may be made directly to the charity of one's choice.
