In loving memory ~

Mary Ratzlaff passed away peacefully at Rimbey Long Term Care, in Rimbey, Alberta, on October 29, 2024.

Mary was born October 31, 1925, in Chortitza, Russia, a settlement of German-speaking Mennonites which is now part of Ukraine.

Mary emigrated to Canada in 1948 and came to Linden, Alberta. Mary met Wesley Ratzlaff then and they married on April 12, 1950. In 1964, Mary and Wes moved from southern Alberta to Drayton Valley, where they raised their family of eight children. After 1982, Mary and Wes lived in various Alberta towns before moving to Rimbey in 1993.

Mary is lovingly remembered by: her children, Rosalyn (Brad) Bradford of Red Deer, John (Rita) Ratzlaff of Provost, Jeanne Ratzlaff of Edmonton, Jim (Gail) Ratzlaff of Wetaskiwin, Marjorie (Bruce) Sinclair of St. Albert, Gloria (Barry) Nesbitt of Rimbey, Dijie (Bob Beck) Ratzlaff of Rimbey, and Terry (Cindy) Ratzlaff of Bermuda; her numerous treasured grandchildren; great grandchildren; and is fondly remembered by her sibling Dirk Klassen of Abbotsford.

Mary was predeceased by: her parents, Katharine and Gerhard Klassen; sisters Katie Toews, Helen Unfried and Betty Toews; brothers George, Peter, Abe, Henry, and John Klassen; and husband Wes Ratzlaff.

A private Interment Service was held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Linden Cemetery.
