Maurice (Butch)

September 6, 1933- December 28, 2009

It is with sorrow and heavy hearts the family announces the passing of a dear Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife Helen of 49 years, three sons, and one daughter. Tony (Val) Depauw and their children, Brandon, Bailey, Derek (Amanda) and Emberlynn Rose. Lee (Frankie) Depauw and their children, Jordan (Terry) and Marcus. Dean Depauw. Julie (Rocky) Downton and their children, Hannah, Paige, Maddison and Alli. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews at Red Deer, Calgary, Vancouver, Rimbey, Lacombe, Alix, Napa, California, and surrounding areas as well as a host of friend. Maurice was predeceased by his Mother and Father, Joe and Mitilda, brothers Bob (Nel) Depauw, Paul Depauw, Auntie Germain, Uncle Ray and Aunty Reta Depauw. Maurice took his schooling at Paplar Ridge, Vancouver, Rimbey finishing at Composite High School. He then enrolled into Southern Institute of Technology at Calgary where he achieved his diploma in Mechanics and worked for many dealer ships in Red Deer, In 1960 he married his wife Helen and together they purchased a farm in the Lacombe County. Maurice took a lot of pride in his mechanics and as the family grew and with the help of his family he was able to continue his mechanics as well as farm. Maurice loved music and dancing was his greatest hobby. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 35 years. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 1:00 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, #6 McMillan Ave, Red Deer, Alberta. Interment will follow in the Alto Reste Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
