STONER
Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth (Grierson) Stoner of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Long Term Care, Rimbey on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the age of 78 years.
Mildred and her late husband, Calvin farmed in the Forshee area for forty years before retiring into Rimbey in the spring of 1992. As a hardworking farmwife and mother of four children, she loved gardening, berry picking, knitting and bingo. Mildred always enjoyed dances and card parties at the Forshee Community Hall, and she was an active member of the Wooddale Ladies Club for several years.
Mildred will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Betty (Gary) Grant of High River; Allan (Jayne) Stoner of Rocky Mountain House; Audrey (Brian) Altman of Forshee; and Robert (Tanja) Stoner of Rimbey; as well as ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother, Allan (Peggy) Grierson of Cochrane; and her sister, Annie Maier of Prince George, B.C. in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her beloved husband, Calvin in 1995; and her grandson, Dylan Stoner in 2006.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Mildred's Life was held at the Forshee Community Hall, Forshee on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Mrs. Betty Grant presiding. A Private Family Interment Service preceded the Memorial Service in the Bentley Cemetery, Bentley. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
