Mildred was born at Lac La Biche, Alberta on September 16, 1914 and passed away at Breton Health Centre on July 1, 2015 with her family by her side at the age of 100.
She lived in the Pendryl area since 1921, on the farm until she retired to West Pine Lodge in 1994 and moved to the Breton Health Centre in 2013. She was well known for her beautiful garden, baking & cooking, sewing and paintings. Mildred leaves to mourn her passing; son, Don (Judy) Goodkey of Winfield; daughter, Margaret (Frank) Nash of Drayton Valley; grandchildren, Dean Goodkey, Donnie Goodkey and Crystal Hounsome (nee: Goodkey), Cindy Ellis (nee: Rupertus), Hal Rupertus, Travis Sundberg and their spouses; great grandchildren, Clancy, Ethan and Cale Goodkey, Kaitlyn Hounsome, Chantelle and Josée Guss, Tyrell and Tristan Ellis, Chelsey and Brandon Rupertus, Tyler and Miranda Sundberg; two great-great grandsons, Atticus and Bodhi Goodkey as well as numerous relatives and friends. Mildred was predeceased by her parents, Charles & Harriet Long; siblings, Charles, Audrey and Harvey; husband, Jack Goodkey; daughter, Marian Sundberg and granddaughter, Shannon Sundberg.
Cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a later date.
