Mr. Alexander “Sandy” Jaffray of

Rimbey, Alberta passed away

quietly at the Rimbey Hospital and

Care Centre, Rimbey on Saturday,

July 23, 2005 at the age of 85 years.

Sandy was born in Koocher

Cairns, Scotland on April 25, 1920.

He immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of

one year, settling on the family farm in the Lockhart

District. Sandy spent 3 ½ years in the army during World

War II, mostly as a transport driver. Following the war,

he returned to the Lockhart District and was united in

marriage to Hazel Kemmis on December 10, 1956.

Together they lived on the family farm where they

resided until their passings.

Sandy will be lovingly remembered by one son, Randy

(Lola) Jaffray of Rimbey and their children, Kyla, Nikki

and Cody; three daughters, Deb (Randy) Hollingshead

of Rimbey and their son, Bryan; Marj (Dick) Hancik of

Rimbey and their children, Michelle, Travis and

Shalaine; and Sheila (Duncan) Clark of Stettler and their

children, Shaun, Sydney and MacGregor; one stepson,

Gordon (Pat) McTavish of Rimbey and their children,

Kelly and Troy; and one stepdaughter, Gloria Alward of

Ardrossen and her children, Jason, Marc, and Trevor.

He will also be lovingly remembered by two brothers,

Jim (Elsie) Jaffray of Rimbey; and Willie (Ethel) Jaffray

of Calgary; three sisters, Helen Winters of Oliver, B.C.;

Jean Henderson, also of Oliver, B.C.; and Gladys Holmen

of Bentley; his mother-in-law, Dora Kemmis of Rimbey;

and his sister-in-law, Frances (Dave) Davies of Rimbey.

Sandy was predeceased by his wife, Hazel in 2002; one

brother, Harry Jaffray; and two sisters, Kathleen Oslund

and Beth Solberg.

Funeral Services in Celebration of Sandy’s Life were

held at the Rimbey Church of the Nazarene, Rimbey on

Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend

Dave MacMillan officiating. Interment followed in the

West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey. If friends desire,

memorial tributes in Sandy’s Memory may be made

directly to STARS Air Ambulance, Building #16, 29

Airport Road, Edmonton, Alberta T5G 9Z9; or to the

charity of one’s choice. Condolences to the family may
